“Reshaping History – China Art 2000-2009” is a large scale art exhibition that is coming soon to the China National Convention Center, Today Art Museum and Arrario Gallery in Beijing. This exhibition is jointly curated by art historian Lv Peng, poet and curator Zhu Zhu, and Taiwanese scholar Gao Qian Hui. Along with the Main Exhibit, there are also a chronologically-related exhibit, the “Special Documenta”, and the “New Youth China Art Invitation Exhibit”.
The “New Youth China Art Invitation Exhibit” will be held at Today Art Museum and Arrario Beijing starting on April 25, 2010. The Main Exhibit and the Special Documenta will be launched on May 4th, 2010 at the China National Convention Center. This exhibition gathers the most distinctive and promising work from between 2000-2009, and provides a summarized view on art development in China based on both historical and contemporary context. This exhibition puts on display the achievement of Chinese contemporary art since its infancy three decades ago and the direct and honest analysis of the real issues of the 21st century.
